When the days are out of kilter
It's Saturday morning, last night was Friday night.
Ordinarily at this time I'd be lying in bed wriggling my toes, eyes closed debating whether to get out of bed to peek at my emails or to stay snuggled up under my doona. Instead, after five days of no classes, we have classes today and also Sunday morning and then five days straight after that. It's almost like they feel guilty having holidays so we get 7 days straight of classes. I know the weirdness of the timetable is going to wreak havoc with the calendar in my head - I'll forget which day is which. :) We're all going to be so tired by the time next Saturday rolls around.
I slept fitfully last night although when I woke up things were just as I had expected them to be. Sometimes I am wise and surprise myself and am able to predict human behaviour and responses with amazing accuracy. I won't let it go to my head because sometimes I'm just wrong, wrong, wrong. In this case I was right.
Anyway - and I use my hated word deliberately there, I'm heading off soon. I am sleepy and as I was saying to someone yesterday, Koala With Panda Eyes + New Bicycle of Dubious Chinese Quality = Danger on the roads of Beijing. Beware - if any of you know anyone who might be on the roads of Haidian between now and 8am, tell them to hide until I hurtle by ;)
