Fic exchanges/ficathons and that sort of thing
I never participate in them. My worst fear is that I will write a fic for someone who will hate it and then I'll feel awful and so will the recipient.
My question is ... Have you ever received an absolutely awful story in a fic exchange and what did you do about it? Did you try to find something positive to say? Did you leave constructive criticism?
For me, I figure it's like any 'gift' - it seems ungracious to be ... ungracious about it even if it is terrible/not your cup of tea.
