Am I hearing things?
This is the andante from Symphony No. 25 in G minor, K. 183 by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.
This is The Shape Of Things To Come, a track from the soundtrack of Battlestar Galactica, season One, composed by the peculiarly named Bear McCreary.
For some reason, I hear similarities. Stephen, help me out here!?! Do you hear anything? Anything? Or am I delusional? :)
Edit: Stephen says I'm delusional. Well to quote him:
"I can't pick that many similarities so far between the pieces....The BSG piece is in triple time with an occasional 2/4 bar. Both have accents on the upbeats. 1 - 2 - *3* - *4* for mozart. 1 - *2* - 3 for BSG but harmonically they're quite different.
With slow moving melodies it's easy to find similarities."
In other words - I'm delusional. Oh well. :)
