It's such a beautiful but heart-breaking image all at the same time. It reminds me of when we were having our heatwave in Adelaide, and koalas came into the suburbs from the bush, looking for water. And they found it in people's backyards!
This is such a tragedy. I cannot believe it. My friends in QLD are safe, thank god, but others are not so fortunate :(
It's amazing that the animal instinctively holds still, kangaroos have sharp claws on their font paws. I'm glad ppl still care for the wild animals. Over here we also have some serious flooding, ppl in my hometown erected small hills in the floodlands for the wild animals, providing hay, sugartubes (a sweet parsnip) and such so that hares, birds and other wild animals can save themselves on these islands and have fodder for the time being.

I'm glad ppl still care for the wild animals.
