Some Random Comments
1. Work has been ridiculous lately. I don't even pretend to understand what's going on.
2. We watched the finale to Battlestar Galactica a few weeks ago. Very brief spoilery thoughts beneath the cut.
(a) deeply unhappy with Athena shooting Natalie AND Boomer and there being (essentially) no consequences. Whatever her rationale, whatever her reasons - she killed fellow sentient beings and given how outraged I was when Cally "murdered" Boomer, I think I'm being consistent in my outrage. Yes, Athena had suffered greatly - but that doesn't justify her pulling out a gun and killing people who have wronged her. It's not supposed to be that we're entitled to pull out a gun and blow the heads of anyone who has wronged us ...
(b) also very unimpressed with the ending of the series. Very weird and psycho.
3. Watched a truly terrible movie with Jessica Simpson called "Major Movie Star". I'm not even going to try to defend my decision to watch such a Bad Bad BAD movie :)
4. Tried to watch the Norwegian horror movie Død snø (Dead Snow). It sounded so terrible and quirky that I was going to try to put aside my distaste of horror. The storyline is about a group of friends who are staying in a cabin in the mountains and find a box of treasures that belonged to Nazis fleeing from Russia in World War II. Upon finding the treasure, they are then invaded by dead Nazi Zombies. Unfortunately (or perhaps fortunately) for us, the version of the DVD we had, didn't have proper English subtitles so we gave up watching it :)
5. The Canadian's parents arrive next week. I hope they like it here - they're arriving just as the weather is approving.
