I finished episode 13 (Fated to Pretend) and episode 14 (Click) of
Moonlight and they were pretty good. Not a huge amount to say about them except that the Shameless
iPhone endorsements continue as does the tendency to put gauze of Sophia Myles' misty face whenever she appears. I have no idea why!
Blurb for Fated to Pretend: Benjamin Talbot, a new A.D.A., investigates the murder of Beth's boss Maureen. Beth and Mick pursue their own investigation, Benjamin warns them not to spoil any evidence that could lead to the culprit. Mick provides some good advice and some surprising empathy to a troubled teenager Bonnie with secrets of her own.
To my horror, the episode starts with Mick looking a bit sleazy as he walks down the beach. Jewellery + belt + open shirt is just not a very good look.
Heh.

Now Hacker Vampire plays the video game
Rock Band (which The Canadian ABSOLUTELY LOVES :P) and I am beginning to wonder whether
Rock Band also sponsors Moonlight
In this shot, Hacker Vampire plays the guitar on the game.
We get lots and lots of close-ups of the screen
Later he's playing the drums - also lots of close-ups and the Canadian tells me that they are images of the real game, not a copy.

And a close-up in case you missed it :)
While I do not dislike the new character of Talbot, I have some questions. (1) Why are all ADAs in this show such pretty-boys? Look at the guy? He looks like he belongs on Days our Lives or some other day time soap where he can wear fake tan, foundation and lippy! :) (2) Why does the Main Hot ADA have to be in love with Beth? (3) Did they introduce his character just to cause tension for the Mick/Beth ship, and why? Surely Coraline his psychotic ex was enough for that? My final question is, why does everyone else not get gauze
But Beth always gets gauzed and misty?
One more
iPhone advertisement that demonstrates its excellent speakerphone capabilities :D
Mick also wonders why he doesn't get gauze
When Beth gets gauzed
Beth has a Julia Stiles moment
Blurb for Click: Mick is hired to help protect a rising Hollywood starlet who feels threatened by paparazzi, but she ends up murdered. Meanwhile, Beth gets a new boss at BuzzWire.
Again, I wonder why Talbot is such a pretty boy. And ungauzed.
And Beth has to be gauzed even in broad daylight
And here they are deliberately causing tension and anxiety for the Mick/Beth ship ... and of course, Beth's misty on the left while Talbot's crisp and clear on the right :)

The Canadian thinks that perhaps it's in Sophia Myles contract and that notwithstanding her youth, she may have demanded the gauzing - because this is the age of HDTV and the Unflattering Close-up. Hmm.
