i'm typin up a poem i wrote today in class. i like it when an in class assignment inspires me! i was one of only two people to write a 40 line glosa poem in the 20 minutes provided, and i actually ended up happy with it, so i read it out and got a lot of applause. i love performing my poetry. i am so jazzed on this class.

hmm anyway, i am feeling busy still but it's very manageable. except i've been keeping all my coursework in a cardboard folder and it's starting to rip at the fold. i think i should get another one.

TONS (literally, tons) of student work to read this weekend. i have 5 short stories for advanced fic to read, as well as 10 sets of 4 poems for poetry class. AND, this weekend, for the literary magazine i edit for my directed study, we are narrowing down 60-odd shortlist submissions to a LOT less.

so my head will soon be swimming with the work of my peers. it's great.

things at the newspaper are going well also. week 2 of editing went smoothly, week 3 of assigning articles went well too. we plan to move up to 20 pages soon, which would add more pages to my section, which i am stoked about because as it is i barely get to write for my section, there's no room! but i've been recruiting lots of writers and working hard to improve what i can. if anyone's interested, articles can be found at www.ufvcascade.ca !

in more newspaper news, i had my first interview for a feature piece last week. my interview is making the cover! it's awesome. the interview is with poet elizabeth bachinsky, the current writer in residence at ufv. so if yer interested in poets, local gals, or me, then you should read it when it comes out. i'll post a link.

soon i get my new computer... if i ever find time to go get it in between all my reading and writing!
