My Coming Out Story (Updated)

Mar 22, 2015 05:00

When I was in second grade, my mom started dating a woman. They were obviously very in love, because within a year, we were all living together. At this time, I found the thought of girls dating girls to be utterly disgusting, but for some reason, that never affected how I percieved my mother's relationship. As long as you're happy with the way you are, I think some things won't matter in the long run. (Of course, I just might be really optimistic...)

Sometimes I wonder why people put so much emphasis into gender/sexes. I'm surrounded by the LGBT community and I find it more liberating than being around heterosexuals. (Lol, the irony.)

It makes me happy to know you have a supportive family, some of my friends are already in their late 20's and they've yet to come out.

I have friends who wouldn't dream of coming out. I try my hardest to support them whole heartedly. Thank you for thinking good thoughts about my situation. It is what it is, haha ^^

The tag said rant so i came here expecting a full blown out rant. This is not a rant. Not even close. This is the opposite of it.This is the acceptance of oneself as who you are.Congrats.Very few people have that privilege.
You are truly very brave.

oh, thank you ^^ Accepting myself came easy with my background, I guess. I Am truly lucky to have the family I have, and try my hardest to support those who don't have a family like mine.

ah, thank you ^^ We would never work out though. She's a cheerleader, and class president, so she seems perfect, but we have nothing in common. Well... There are similarities, but she's not a Cassie, and I've yet to have lasting relationships with anyone that's not a Cassie. Even if we don't talk about DBSK, it's nice to know that I'm not the only crazy fangirl there. It makes me really uncomfortable when people look at me like I'm weird for being a fan... :/ Plus I rant about my fanfics constantly. She kinda needs to know who the boys are to keep up, ha ha ^^

sometimes it takes courage to admit even to yourself that you like something that is different from what you thought was normal, or whatever you thought normal to be. and admitting to family and friends seems like a mountain that you just have trouble climbing but once you reach the top, you realize that the hardest of admitting is over, not the hardest part of being gay/lesbian, just that the admitting is the first step to being free to be who you really are ( ... )
