My co-worker (Pat) is alive and he is very lucky.
Yesterday Pat and Terry (my boss) were in Utica fixing a sign. They just got done with the project when Terry turned off the generator and Pat collapsed in the basket of the boom truck. Terry lowered the boom and he was unresponsive, he called 911. The ambulance arrived and he had stopped breathing. The ambulance thought they were going to loose him but he came around. Turns out that Pat had been electricuted by the generator and broke his nose when he collapsed. Luckily he had both hands on the frame of the basket so the electricity went across his shoulders and missed his heart. He did get a very bad jolt and has some difficulty breathing and walking but the doctor says it should come back to normal in the next week.
