I'll start this off by saying that I HATE shopping. That counts for everything. I thus tend to make the habit of either a) going repeatedly to stores and get one or two items in order to spend very little time there or b)go to some massive sale and stock up on stuff I'm not even sure I need, just in case. I've done that with many things, mainly food and electronics, though the occasional clothing sale is always good (I have far to many slacks that don't fit anymore cuz I never wore them). Today was a day for electronics. Halted Electronics has a yearly anniversary sale, and I believe I've only missed one of them since I found out about the store (that was when I was in 6th grade or so). I normally get there really late, so all the good stuff is gone. Today, I got there at 9am sharp, stood about two seconds in line, and then rushed with the mob of people to the back where its "pick by the pound". Its amazing what there was to pick. I ended up buying two acrylic computer cases, 3 power supplies, an 8 port switch (like I need another one), another UPS, and some other misc parts. I narrowedly missed a mATX motherboard (damn russians....), a nice blue Enermax PSU (I got the silver one though), and some other misc stuff I had my eyes on. I was also extremely tempted to get this massive LED sign, like they have on storefronts, but considering I spent $38 on everything else... another 25 on a sign I would probably never use was a bit expensive. Then again... if I bought this stuff new... total cost would be about $400, even on sale. The back was picked clean in about a half-hour. Now I have three cases sitting in the garage (two of them pretty crappy), a nice computer in a clear case sitting upstairs, and a refurb Athlon64 motherboard sitting in my bedroom. Not exactly enough parts to make another full machine, but then, there's always black friday. Hopefully A64-754s'll be cheap then. Why the hell am I up? I need to wake up at 7:30 tomorrow...
