"They were going to the Park, doing some hunting, but didn't come back. I tell you there's someone new in town, or more than one, and they're starting to get to be a real pain."

The male sniffed, eyes narrowing as his eyes darted from one end of the alley to the other and back to her. "There were more than one the other night, down in the tunnels, and they weren't playing fair, lovely. And you know I don't like it when they don't play fair." The last sentence was delivered in a low snarl.

"And I'm hungry," she continued, "need something more than just the rubbish 'round here. Some of those diseases leave such a sour taste."

"Then we'd better go find you something a little more palattable, shouldn't we? Looks like we can't depend on Julia and Vern, and if you're right, and Theodore and Raina did go with them, then their either still in the Park, or - " He paused, looking at her. "We've got some differen' huntin' to do."
