http://pandorahearts.wikia.com/wiki/Xerxes_Break Personality:
Playful/teasing: Upon first meeting Xerxes Break, this is all you’ll see. He is the kind of man who teases his co-workers and is dubbed the irresponsible one. The one who’s lazy with his work and bored in his actions. And the one you never really want to trust. Break often uses (what would be considered) magic tricks to torment and scare those around him and is named ‘the clown’ by Alice, who also fears him because of it. If you don’t trust Break, it’s because he wanted it that way-by never shooting off a serious aura he manages to keep that image. And all according to plan.
Manipulative/curious: When Break wants something, he wants something, when he needs something, he needs something. He gets what he needs and gets what he wants. And in order to achieve this, he uses people as pawns and watches the set-up unfold. Break claims to not have a problem at all with standing back and watching the show-he often even uses those close to him (such as Oz and Gilbert), uses some of their emotional disadvantages to his advantage. It is not uncommon for Xerxes Break to use everything and anything that would be to his advantage. When things don’t quite work out the way he planned, he finds it curious, so long as he is still in control of the situation. If he weren’t, it would be a different story entirely.
Stubborn/secretive: When Break is not in control of his situation, or at least, any important situation (to him), he finds it incredibly frustrating. In order to be manipulative and playful at once, Break finds it necessary to keep people at bay. Especially Vincent Nightray. Vincent Nightray is someone who pushes his buttons constantly and eases his way into Break’s plans, essentially ruining them and often turning the table on Break. Because of this, Break wants nothing to do with anything that involves Vincent, that doesn’t require him to get involved in. Whenever the two cross paths, Break is automatically put on guard and watches everything he does. Break is stubborn in the sense that he will never give up to this man, or anyone else that tries to pry into his life. When asked questions about his motives or what he is up to, Break never quite answers them, often talking his way out of the situation by playing with his words and choosing them carefully.
Impersonal/ solitary: You may not know this, but Xerxes Break was once known as Kevin Regnard. A little bit of detailed history will allow for a better understanding of this part of Break. Kevin Regnard was a knight who served the Sinclair family, he was very close with the lord’s youngest daughter and one day, the two were out and upon their return, found the entire family assassinated. They were assassinated for political reasons, but Kevin blamed himself for being careless and he wanted to fix this. He contracted a chain illegally in order to change the past, and after a conversation with the Will of the Abyss, it did, in exchange for fulfilling a wish for the Abyss. When he returned to the real world, however, he was found on the Rainsworth family property and taken in. It was found out soon after that the entire Sinclair family was murdered by the youngest daughter and then she was killed. The past had changed, just not for the better.
After this, Kevin changed his name to Xerxes Break and was an unhappy, bitter, angry person. He had a short temper and was very quiet most of the time. According to Liam, he opened up because of Cheryl Rainsworth and over time, turned out to be the man he is today. Pieces of ‘Kevin Regnard’ still live in Break today; he does not trust people easily. Or at all. It takes very much time for Break to open up to anyone, even Gilbert Nightray, who has known Break for over ten years complains about how much Break doesn’t tell him. He is secretive and defensive, he more often than not won’t let anyone near him emotionally. Anything remotely honest he says are little half-truths and white lies. Now, this all sounds like he’s one evil person, but in truth, Break is just cautious, and maybe a little paranoid. Oz Vessalius often sees right through Break’s attempts at keeping people at bay, much to Break’s annoyance.
Strong/selfless: Underneath it all, even though he’ll never admit it, Break is a very selfless person. He fights for Pandora and his master, Sharon Rainsworth. He does everything in his power to make sure she is safe and sound. When Vincent Nightray kidnapped her, Break was (inwardly) worried to death and got to her as fast as he could. Although Break tried to keep his ‘cool’ by telling everyone he would never have done that for her, and rather for himself, it was quite obvious he did it because he was worried. Liam Lunettes, his best friend, was in a similar situation, being in danger and Break having to come help him. When Break arrived, however, it was believed he was dead. Not but a few seconds after thinking the enemy had murdered Liam, he drew his sword and fought them in a blind rage until he was near death. While swinging his sword for what he thought would be his last time, Break thought to himself how it wouldn’t matter if he died anyway. Until Gilbert showed up and knocked some sense into him.
Xerxes Break is a man of very many layers. Very many. If you haven’t the time and energy to pursue, pursue and pursue, you’ll likely not see the entirety of who he really is. But once you do you’ll find him to be trustworthy, wise, and strong.
Extra:
Character Abilities: Having made an illegal contract with a chain ( a monster from the Abyss ), Break is able to summon the chain named Mad Hatter. Much to his misfortune, however, as summoning a chain with an illegal contract heavily damages the user and even more so when the chain becomes hurt.
Break is extremely avid at using a one-handed sword, he is even known as the strongest swordsman in all of Pandora.
Possessions: Break possesses a long cane-sword that he has on him at all times, some way, shape or form. At first glance, it appears to be a long, slender, harmless cane with a gold design lining it. However, from the handle part and down, it unsheathes to reveal a straight, sharp blade.
He also has a small doll named Emily that he keeps on his shoulder. Virtually harmless, Break uses the doll mainly to mock and tease the people around him, often performing some sort of ventriloquist act with her.
Anything else: He’s almost entirely BLIND.

Here! Log/Prose sample:
He had always woken up and found he didn’t know where he was. It wasn’t really something to be proud of, all things considered, but Break was starting to wonder if he should count the times. Hospital beds were never comfortable, always laid with pale, stiff sheets. He found it amusing how many times he woke up in them, playing through the steps like a game. What happened last night? Like trying to remember a dream. Except everything was much more fuzzy than normal. Except he could hardly see anything. Except he couldn’t see anything at all. Only sounds, only pain. Only voices, only the weather. Sometimes, that could tell all. Today it was hot, he felt the sun leaking through the open window and onto his face. He raised a hand he couldn’t see and felt it there too. His mind was slow right now, he was in no hurry to remember things, as a matter of fact, sooner or later someone would come in and remind him of everything. They would break the momentary peace, as uncomfortable as this peace was.
Break kicked off the sheets and was hit with a burning, throbbing pain that ached in his entire frame. He winced for a moment and unwillingly remembered where the center of each one was-what they were and how he got them. And unwillingly, he remembered who else got hurt. Liam. The face he remembered-the one he pictured him making while he was there on the ground, hurt. It was in his head and he had the urge to slip out of bed and find out how he was doing. So he did. He successfully snuck out of the room and made his way into his, carefully and quietly. The taller man was sitting on the side of his bed, feet touching the floor and his hands on his glasses, cleaning them. There was a pressure on the opposite side, a shift of weight and indentation of presence. And then their backs met. Liam jumped a good one, but before he could yell or flip around, the other man’s voice rang out, “You’re quite the idiot when you want to be.”
Liam felt the seriousness in the mocking tone; he felt the anger in the playfulness. There was so much to be said here. But before any words left him, his angry worrying did. Liam slugged Break hard in the face.
