Ok, so I went to see the new Eli Roth [Cabin Fever] movie tonight "Hostel", and well...im still baffled as to why it is the ..1 movie in America? The trailers and commercials are one thing...sitting through the film for 92 minutes...not worth it. The whole point of the film didnt come in till almost 30 minutes. The character build up was nice at least, and the cast were pretty much no-bodies. The setting was decent and the writing was skeptical. It definitly had a realistic tone in the dialouge in the beginning, but as it went on, repetition just gave it an overkill. The blood and gore was fine...except after someone, lets say, loses a finger, the blood comes out, and then stops without applying any bandages to it. Now, I know it's all hollywood bullshit, but how can I take a movie seriously if it's not done to full capacity. In short, I wanted to leave the movie 25 minutes, but wasn't gonna waste $9.50 on 1 ticket and another $10 on fucken pretzel bites and a medium Pepsi.
I give Hostel: 4/10 as its rating. If you want to see it, go during the day when the prices are like $2 cheaper. Enjoy!
