I heard about this book on NPR a little while back. I only heard a little bit, but enough to know that I would probably like the book. It seems to me that if I'm interested in the show, I'm interested in the book that they're talking about (if it's about a book). NPR resonates with me. Anyway, the book is about the author and his farm and most importantly, his dogs. I think that he was a journalist first, but then got into writing nonfiction. His writing is wonderful and enjoyable. Plus, he writes about his dogs. The pictures and descriptions in his book make me love Izzy and Lenore. They both helped him through a tough time in his life. Izzy went with him to do hospice work. Lenore just was an adorable puppy. And it doesn't surprise me that he's Quaker. I know enough Friends to understand the personality types that are drawn to Quakerism. All in all, I really enjoyed the book and would recommend it to anyone especially if they're dog lovers.
