[Passin' by

and now backin' up. Interesting.]

...Where the hell did you get that?

The Post Office. A real bargain.

[she smiles....not very pleasantly.]

Why'd you go and do something stupid like that? Looks like your limbs are all in tact, though.

Because it was worth it, duh. I doubt anyone else in Mayfield has what I do right now.

And what's that?

A dragon's egg.

[She pets it- it shudders a little. There is quite possibly a faint squeaking noise coming from within the shell.]

Really now.

[He walks up a bit closer to inspect it.]

Not that I know anything about them, but I'd say that looks like it's ready to hatch

Oh, it'll hatch soon enough. Normally it only takes, like, ten minutes at most to incubate.

[tiny cracks appear in the shell]

See?

Yeah. So what are ya gonna do with it exactly? Does it breathe fire and all that? [They don't have dragons where he's from. This is interesting.]

Mm, make it guard the house mostly. It's not like anyone else will. [said carelessly, offhandedly; it's really to protect herself.]

And oh yeah, it can scorch pretty much anything that way....it can't fly, though. Shame.

Hnn. Can't blame you. I've got enough spells in my house to blow it sky-high. Hell, I've already done it once.

Does it grow up to be gigantic?

knowthestakes November 19 2010, 04:02:58 UTC
Big as a house!...maybe a little bigger, I haven't seen one in action for a couple months now.

Really. Where are you going to keep it once that happens?

[a shrug]

Back yard or front yard, depending. It's not like I could hide it.

Hnn. I wonder if Mayfield will take it back at that point. As much as I'd love to see a giant dragon scorch grady a few times, I doubt they'd let that slide for long.

Maybe, but it's not like I'll be going on a burning rampage with it.

[something in her face twitches and she stands up, putting the egg to her ear and listening.]

Unless I had to.
