I very almost quit school over the weekend. I went home friday night for my birthday saturday. I spent the day with Akira and my sisters. We returned here sunday....... my sisters cried. I hate seeing them cry. Worse is being the cause of their tears. Which is why I almost did not return here. Akira persuaded me to come back, as did the girls. They ( Read more... )

What are you interested in doing, Ibu-kun? I agree, there aren't many places to hang out, but if you enjoy bird watching, there are a wide variety on campus. I would be happy to introduce you to them.

To be fair, I'm not really sure how to answer that question. My interests tend to change a lot. I think, perhaps, I'm not giving this place it's due. I've been here only a few days. I'm used to living in the city where no matter the direction I go in, there's always something to do. I'll just have to look a little harder here, or make my own entertainment.

.... I have never been bird watching in my life. Though I have noticed some strange birds around campus.

I confess that may be my fault. The novelty of a human who can understand them and all that. It is very quiet here in comparison to cities. I grew up in Okinawa near the bases, so it always takes some getting used to when I come back here.

It is a little odd and takes some getting used to. But I think I will eventually.

You talk to birds? Is it only birds or do you talk to other animals too? When birds sing are they really just yelling "get off mah land!" or is it something else?

I do. And sometimes to each other that's what they say. I find the ones I spend a lot of time with or that are just exposed to humans more in general are more intelligent than others. Like, city birds versus forest birds.

I knew it. I find that funny. People listen to birdsong to sooth and relax them. But they're really just shouting at each other to get away from their territory or do they want to fuck. Though I suppose not exactly in those words, but you get my point.

Actually, sometimes it is in those exact words. Sometimes I miss the days when that's how it sounded to me too. Spring is hell on my ears.

Earplugs? Tell them to shut up? Threaten to chase off all the females if the males don't go and flash their plumage somewhere else?

Ah, I just make sure I have my MP3 player with me and charged at all times when I have to be out doors in the spring. Some of them have been nesting around here since before I started coming here, so it's not very fair of me to try to chase them off.

Hm..... That's a good idea, I suppose. So long as that helps.

Oh, it really does. Though I'm sure it makes it harder to get my attention when I'm outside.

I think it's a small price to pay for your own peace of mind.

Oh I completely agree. Though I do think I need some new music, I'm getting sick of what I've got at the moment.

Then you should probably find some while you're thinking about it.
