[ Yep, he knew this was about that. At least he'd been expecting it, so it didn't come as a surprise. ]
Alright. [ Do I get a pat on the back or less attitude if I show up five minutes early? ] Do I need to bring anything, or just myself?
[ Because he knows this is about his punishment...but he doesn't know what the punishment entails yet. ]
[ OOC: Also, is this "tomorrow morning" as in today, the 30th? Since the comment was originally posted the 29th? Or tomorrow-tomorrow as in the 1st of May? ♥ ]
You won't need anything. [ Oh, wait. ] That man is not to accompany you.
[OOC: I thought about that and whatever is good with you? I know it's kind of sudden and I don't know what you had planned, so if we need to forward date this, that's good with me. If it doesn't matter, assume 'tomorrow morning' means the morning of the 30th. :| There is no rest, Kunsel.]
You mean Zack? Don't worry. I've been trying as best I can to keep him out of this. I'll make sure he doesn't follow.
[ Man, Byakuya, you know how to scare a guy. This feels like a death sentence... ]
[ I-it's not, is it?! ]
[ OOC: Nope, not too sudden. I was keeping his schedule mostly open so I could work this in eventually. ♥ So it'll take place the morning of the 30th, then! Hurray! Anything specific happening I should know about, besides the general stuff we discussed on that one Plurk a bit ago? ]
[ Perhaps, perhaps not. The only way to know is to show up, isn't it? He won't give a pardon over the Forge, either. ]
Do you have anything else to say on your behalf?
[OOC: \o/ Cool with me! Um... I don't think there's anything more? Just the things talked about there and if there's anything you want to do or have questions about, just let me know!
Um. [ An awkward moment where he stares at the Forge and is a little glad Byakuya can't see his perplexed expression. ] Why...would I have anything else to say in my defense?
You do remember that I turned myself in, right? I know what I did was wrong, and I'm fully prepared to accept whatever the consequences are.
There's nothing else to say. Not a damn thing.
[ He's sorry, maybe? Yeah, there's that, but he's said it enough times now that saying it again would just be redundant. ]
[ OOC: Everything seems to be on the up-and-up as far as I can tell. I'll ping you if need be, then! Only other question I can think of is...how long will this service to the Police Force be? And how many times a week? I...am all for working Kunsel to the bone. XD Sadly, he'd just like Byakuya more for it, I think. Even if the man's a bit of a grouch. ]
It is the last chance you have to appeal before I carry out your sentence.
[ He expected pleading, or even just a simple statement. What criminal doesn't? ]
There is nothing? [ There has to be. ]
[OOC: Probably three-four days a week, but Kunsel's free to offer more. In fact, Byakuya would probably 'suggest' for him to take more. As for how long each day? About six hours seems fair. Again, he's welcome to stay longer, Grumpy would definitely make sure to offer this, too. How long is his sentence? That I'm not sure about. I want to say two-three months (for the purpose of the game), but I don't want it to be too long for you since you're the one it effects the most.]
I'm not going to appeal, Byakuya. That course of action is reserved for people that don't believe they're guilty.
I know I am, so there's nothing to say. I let things get out of hand; the resulting mess was entirely my fault, and there is no contesting that statement.
[ And the sad thing is, he means this word-for-word. You can hear the conviction in his voice, even though he speaks calmly, quietly. ]
I don't know if you were expecting me to blubber and break down and beg for forgiveness...if you were, I'm sorry to disappoint you. I just can't do that, not when I know that I really screwed up this time. I left my honor behind that day, Byakuya. The mask came off, and I wasn't SOLDIER anymore. Shiva, I was just someone with a grudge, with the knowledge of how to kill another man, and I took advantage of that. Of course I deserve to be punished for that, so why would I try and appeal?
[ I don't want to be lumped in with Malfatto's type. I'll willingly accept the worst sentence if it lessens the load of guilt I've been
( ... )
[ ... how is he supposed to dislike him with talk like that? Then he won't insult Kunsel's honor. ]
I see.
[ In trying to avoid a repeat of past mistakes, he's found someone who can earn three whole respect points. A thousand more to go and he might earn tea time with him. ]
We meet tomorrow. That is all.
[OOC: I'm totally game! \o/ Watch out, if Kunsel does too good a job, Byakuya might try to recruit him.
[ OOC: Yay! We agree! And lmao! A little while ago he debated joining anyway...it'd be funny if it worked out that way after all this is said and done. ]
[ He'd do it in person, but he hates Dismas and there are other concerns right now. He doesn't dare let the Outpost out of his sight. ]

What can I do ya for, Byakuya?
[ Although, come to think of it, he thinks he knows what this is about already... ]

You are to report to Outpost One tomorrow morning, precisely at eight. This is not negotiable.
