[OOC: After this. ♥]

Hello, journal network!

I'm writing this because I met a wonderful girl today (Hello, Ami!) and she had the brilliant idea of starting up a study group here in Chicago. I think it's an excellent idea, particularly for those who are having a difficult time being away from their schools and so forth. Education is essential ( Read more... )

I attended a private school in Scotland, actually. The classes were mostly environmentally-oriented (based on a smaller community) and I took the majority of my more common, worldly-based classes in the summer, and through mail. I seem to be 'up-to' in my age group (I'm 18), but I'd really like to be better prepared.

I'm used to a typical school day of 9 hours, with one class that's double marked each day. I'm rather comfortable with long periods of study. A great deal of our work was action-based, though I'm a more visual learner, I've found. Secondarily, auditory learning works rather well for me.

I find psychology to be absolutely fascinating, actually. I've done a bit of studying in the subject, though mostly based on one individual. I'd be thrilled to learn more of absolutely anything, I admit. Also, the more in-depth, the better!

It's wonderful that you don't mind the rambling, and it's very likely you'll learn quite a bit about me as I tend to ramble normally.

I go to the library every day and can easily access the computer there. My e-mail address is: cleverestwitch1@aol.com.

"Environmentally-oriented", you say? To what sort of environment? I was brought up in an angel-only community, including my school, so it's a niche that I'm somewhat familiar with, though I suspect that's not quite the same situation you were in. Never know with Wanderers, though.

(You are a Wanderer, aren't you? I'm sorry; I just assumed given the nature of your entry that you weren't native, though I suppose a native's education could be equally halted by arriving in Chicago, had they not the resources or funds to continue it.)

Well, I can't say I'll be able to reproduce 9 hours of study for you, but perhaps within said study group we can do something that will work. And I can definitely do a refresher on most world-level high school stuff; I could probably teach most of that in my sleep. :)

Psych's my thing. It's the focus of my Calling -- AoK here -- so I figure, why bother fighting it? I'm mostly focused on cognitive and abnormal, but it's hard to tell unless you're as into it as I or other psych majors, really. And I have to say that individual research as such can yield wonderful data if done right.

Probably the only other thing I could ramble about ad nauseum would be the supernatural community of this world (I'm including Angels, Demons, and Supernatural Humans in that -- Wanderers I'm not so up to date on, as there weren't much in the way of Rifts where I grew up).

Excellent, re: email! So in case you don't manage to get me on the journals, I'm pretty much always reachable at kmfuchizaki@gmail.com as I've usually got some computer or another around. Or my phone.

But yeah, if there's any more interest -- or if you just want to set something up beyond whatever we hash out in this journal conversation -- drop me a line.

I am a Wanderer, yes. I went to school in a magical community, actually. My school was one specifically for witches and wizards. The Ministry of Magic there attempted to keep the community somewhat hidden from the non-magical community, but as there's no Ministry of Magic here -
I don't see any reason to keep silent on the matter.

I'm eager to begin, most certainly.

My interest is piqued, I must admit. I'll attempt to save most of my questions for when we meet in person, as once I've started, it's difficult to stop. I enjoy asking questions almost as much as I enjoy studying. :D

I've actually been doing a considerable amount of research on the supernatural community here. It's wise to know one's community, I think. (Also, I'm ridiculously curious about almost everything!)

I've saved your e-mail address. Thank you. :)

I will do that, thank you so much!

At the very least, keeping silent is generally unnecessary when it comes to the journals, given that they're community-specific. Not that that's to say one should disclose whatever they feel without expecting repercussion, but there's less chance of, say, the CLF overhearing something as there would be were you talking on a street corner or something.

Questions in person might be the best way to go about this; I'm sure I'll have plenty of my own as well. They're just another way to study, really.

And you're very welcome. :)

It is very nice to see someone with their priorities in the right place! I think it would be lovely for you to come to our study group.
