Habits
Eric/Hyesung / PG-13 / 1,104 words / Romance
Summary: Of stomping and sticky notes.

Author's Note: I've always wanted to write a Shinhwa pairing but I never had a plot bunny. Thank you, RicSyung for living in the same apartment complex!

Eric has a habit of visiting Hyesung's apartment at least three times a week, and Hyesung isn't surprised when he returns to his apartment to see Eric lounging on his couch, a beer in one hand and the TV remote in the other.

"How did you get in here?" he prompts for what feels like the hundredth time.

"Why do you keep leaving your key at the front desk?" Eric responds on cue.

"Don't you have a TV and a six pack in your own apartment?" Hyesung asks as he flops down on the couch and lets out a yawn.

"It's too quiet in there," Eric says. "There's an echo every time I take a step; it drives me nuts."

"I know what you mean," Hyesung replies as he rests his head on Eric's shoulder and yawns once more. Eric grins and slides an arm around Hyesung's waist.

"Did you have a long concert rehearsal?"

"Mmm," Hyesung responds as he closes his eyes and leans a little more into Eric's shoulder.

"Go get some sleep," Eric replies. "I'll lower the volume on the TV."

"Thanks," Hyesung says. "And don't move."

Eric raises an eyebrow as Hyesung snuggles into his chest. He expected him to retire in his bedroom for the night.

I make a much better bed anyway, he thinks as he sits his beer on the coffee table and wraps his arms around Hyesung.

Hyesung has a habit of making noise at all hours of the night, and Eric is convinced that he does it just to piss him off. It's currently two in the morning and for the past three hours Eric has been trying to drown out the sound of Hyesung's stomping on the floor above his bedroom. Despite throwing his pillow over his head, stuffing tissue in his ears, and attempting to sleep in the bathtub, Hyesung's steps continue to ring in his ears, and Eric is certain that he has lost any chance of getting rest before he has to wake up at six in the morning from the sound of Hyesung yet again thundering against the floor.

Eric reaches the point where he's prepared to go upstairs to make Hyesung knock it off when he recognizes a pattern in the stomps. There's a two count of steps followed by the slight tapping of Hyesung's heels against the carpet. Next, there's a four count of steps, followed by the soft sliding sound from Hyesung's feet shifting. After hearing the sound of Hyesung's feet scraping the floor, Eric laughs and pulls out his phone to send him a text.

You've got Perfect Man down, Kyo. Move on to Deep Sorrow so I can get some rest.

He receives a response in less than thirty seconds.

Thanks! Good night! And expect your usual morning wakeup call at 6:00am.

So that was the pattern I missed, Eric thinks as he puts down his cellphone and closes his eyes.

Eric has a habit of leaving sticky notes for Hyesung around his apartment, which irritates Hyesung because it's 2012 and he thinks that a text message would suffice.

"You're out of coffee," Hyesung reads on his pantry door that morning. He scowls at the blue sticky note and decides to make tea.

As he grabs his teapot from off the stove, he notices that a bright green sticky note is attached to it.

Make sure that you clean it first, it says, and Hyesung rips the note off of the teapot and balls in it his fist before throwing it in his trash can.

"Obviously I was going to clean it," he mumbles as he aggressively scrubs the inside of the pot.

He sighs as he pours the finished tea into a portable cup, noticing that a dark yellow sticky note is dangling from his microwave.

EAT SOMETHING, it commands in English, and Hyesung rolls his eyes as he goes back into the pantry and pulls out a Choco-pie.

"Geez, and people say that I'm the nag of the group," he mumbles as he throws his jacket on stuffs the snack into one of its pockets.

He grabs his concert rehearsal duffle bag and his tea cup, and heads for the door. Waiting for him is yet another sticky note.

"Oh Lord, what is it now?" he groans.

Have a good day, Pilkyo. I love you! ^^

Hyesung grins and attaches the pink sticky note to the inside of his jacket.

Hyesung has a habit of stealing food from Eric's refrigerator, and Eric doesn't mind, but he wishes that Hyesung would use the Sticky Note Method to inform him. That evening he opens his refrigerator to discover that his sliced beef and all of his vegetables have vanished.

"What the hell?!" he exclaims as he pulls out his cellphone.

"Hello," Hyesung says and Eric replies back with a bitter, "where's my food you thief?"

"Fine, be that way," Hyesung replies. "I'm giving your share of the food to Minwoo."

The phone clicks and Eric grins and races up the stairs to Hyesung's apartment.

"I knew you'd come," Hyesung says and Eric shuts the door behind him. "I was craving stew, and you had most of the ingredients so that came in handy."

Eric grins as he grabs a spoon from Hyesung's drawer and sticks it into the stew pot.

"I haven't even turned off the stove!" Hyesung exclaims rolling his eyes, and Eric smiles as he savors the flavor of the stew in his mouth.

"It's delicious, Kyo," Eric replies as he turns off the stove, and Hyesung rolls his eyes once more.

"Did you expect anything less?" he asks.

Eric catches Hyesung's sigh of relief as Hyesung opens the refrigerator to get a drink.

Eric has a habit of showing up at Hyesung's door at three in the morning wearing a robe, and Hyesung thinks he could get used to that. Eric grins, leisurely unties the belt of the robe, and lets it slowly spread apart.

"Can I come in?" he asks, and as Hyesung's eyes continue to travel down, he wonders why Eric is still standing in the hallway in the first place.

"Yeah," Hyesung replies, hoping that he sounds calm despite the fact that thoughts of ripping off the robe and pinning Eric to his bed come to mind. Eric however, sees straight through Hyesung's façade and grins as if his birthday came early.

"You should have worn baggier sweat pants, Pilkyo," he says as he moves past Hyesung and walks towards their bedroom.

Hyesung takes a look down at his pants and swears as he closes the door.
