On Monday night, Jonghyun is the more optimistic of the two.
"This is going to be great, Taemin!" he says cheerfully as he slides into the bed.
"I don't know," Taemin replies frowning as he joins him. "Key-hyung looked like he wanted to kill you when you asked Onew-hyung if we could room together."
"Kibum is opposed to anything that involves you growing up," Jonghyun tells him. "The two of us living together is exactly what he needs to get over the psycho mother complex that he has towards you."
"It's good to know that Kibum-hyung was your reason behind this," Taemin replies sourly and Jonghyun grins at him.
"Kibum was an afterthought," he says. "I was actually thinking about the fact that I wouldn't have to share you."
He gives Taemin a quick kiss and Taemin flushes slightly.
"I saw that," Kibum says and Jonghyun and Taemin jump as they see him leaning against the door frame. "And if it happens again I'm kicking your ass Jonghyun. Sweet dreams Taemin!" he adds with a large smile as he leaves. Jonghyun scowls.
"Maybe we should invest in a lock," he mutters.

On Tuesday morning, Taemin feels out of it. He goes into the kitchen and collapses in a chair, throwing the upper half of his body onto the table and closing his eyes. A hand taps his shoulder ten minutes later.
"Did you sleep walk in here?" Key asks concerned.
"I couldn't sleep in there," Taemin grumbles looking up at him and Key sees the deep bags under his eyes. "Jonghyun snores and it sounds terrible. I can't believe I never noticed it before."
"Oh how awful," Key replies dramatically as he pats Taemin's back. "You know you could always move back into the old room if it becomes too much for you."
"No hyung," Taemin says firmly. "I'm staying in my new room."
Key sighs. He knows there's no use in asking again. He decides to get Taemin a pair of ear plugs.
"How did you sleep last night?"
I didn't, Taemin thinks to himself as he looks up from his comic book and smiles at Jonghyun.
"Fine," he lies through his teeth and Jonghyun grins.
"I was out like a light," he tells him.
I know, Taemin thinks bitterly. But he smiles and replies with "that's good. I think this living together thing won't be so bad after all."
"I told you everything would be fine," Jonghyun says as he gently removes the comic book from Taemin's hands. "And if Kibum doesn't walk in on this, everything will be just perfect -"
Taemin laughs as Jonghyun throws the covers over both of them. He decides to forgive the older boy for now.
Five hours later he regrets that decision.
"Shut up. Shut up, shut up, shut up!" he hisses. Jonghyun currently sounds like a walrus and Taemin doesn't think that he'll ever be able to fall asleep. He aims a kick at Jonghyun's side and the older man hits the ground with a loud thud. He lets out another snore and Taemin groans in frustration.

On Wednesday, Jonghyun decides that he hates decorating.
"I'm sensing a theme here," he says as he watches Taemin hang his third Michael Jackson poster on the back wall of the room. There's already one poster on the ceiling and one on the back of the room door.
"Doesn't it look great?" Taemin asks happily as he stands back and admires it. "There wasn't enough room for me to hang up everything in the old room but now there's plenty of space!"
"Right," Jonghyun says forcing on a smile as Taemin starts to take out his CD case stand and several Michael Jackson CDs. Taemin blinks and turns to face him.
"This doesn't bother you does it?" he asks.
Yes, it would bother me to wake up first thing in the morning and see that poster, he wants to say. But then Taemin's lips form a slight pout and he can't help but lie.
"No," he says and Taemin hugs him tightly.
"Great!" he exclaims happily as he lets him go. He walks over to the closet and pulls out a plastic bag with a dark black comforter inside. "Because I've been dying to use this!"
Jonghyun decides from that point on that it would be much better to be bluntly honest with Taemin about everything.

On Thursday afternoon, Taemin's patience is tested slightly.
"Why are you wearing those?" he asks as he frowns at Jonghyun. The older male is currently wearing his red pajamas.
"Oh sorry," Jonghyun says not looking up from his video game console. "I forgot to wash mine and I noticed that you had an extra pair."
"Which I planned to use tonight," Taemin replies his frown deepening.
"I'm sorry," Jonghyun repeats this time looking at him. "I didn't know."
"It's fine," Taemin says smiling through his annoyance. "I'll just ask Minho-hyung if he has an extra pair. Just…next time could you ask before you wear my clothes?"
"Sure," Jonghyun tells him.
Taemin turns to leave the room and drops the smile on his face in seconds. He makes a mental note to rip the clothes off of Jonghyun and beat him with them if it ever happens again.

On Friday night, Jonghyun doesn't feel like compromising.
"It's my turn to watch the television," he says to Taemin as he flops down on the bed. "You had it yesterday."
"And you had all day to turn it on and you didn't," Taemin says. "Now when I have the television you decide that you want it? That's not fair."
"I thought we agreed to share things in this room," Jonghyun replies raising an eyebrow. "If you had the television yesterday, then I should have it today."
"Here's a fact for you, if you're not watching the television than you don't want to at that moment," Taemin says.
"But we agreed to share the television," Jonghyun says clearly. "So cut it off."
"No," Taemin replies just as clear. "Go watch it somewhere else."
For a minute Jonghyun considers snatching the remote control out of his hand and kicking him out of the room.
I love him, he thinks, breathing deeply as he forces himself to leave the area. I love him, I love him, and he's lucky that he's cute.

On Saturday afternoon, Taemin and Jonghyun are both ready to ring each other's necks.
Taemin scowls as he sees the carpet. Clothes and comic books are sprawled across the floor.
"Why is the room so dirty?" he asks.
Jonghyun rolls his eyes and pauses the movie that he's currently watching in order to face Taemin.
"It's not dirty," he replies.
"Yes it is," Taemin tells him. "I can barely see the floor and that makes the room look tacky."
"Who cares?" Jonghyun asks. "It's my room and I'm keeping it like I want to."
"It's our room," Taemin corrects pouting. "And I would like to keep it clean."
"You know you're starting to sound like Kibum," Jonghyun says. "Quit nagging at me."
"I'm not nagging at you!" Taemin exclaims. "If I were nagging I would have called you a dirty slob -
"- is that what you think I am?" Jonghyun asks angrily.
"- and then I would have started ranting about the fact that you sound like an elephant when you snore at night -"
"- I don't snore!" Jonghyun says indignantly and Taemin scoffs.
"Next you'll tell me that you don't steal my clothes -"
"- I borrowed one pair of pajamas!" Jonghyun replies. "I didn't think you'd get all anal over it!"
"Usually when you borrow something from a person the person knows that you're borrowing it!" Taemin shouts! "You never ask to borrow anything! Even when we were in the other room you kept taking my clothes! I don't even know why you bother because they don't even fit you! You're too short!"
Jonghyun glares at him.
"Oh you did not just go there," he says.
"So what if I did?" Taemin asks glaring at him.
Jonghyun cuts off the television and grabs one of the pillows off of the bed.
"I'm moving out," he snaps and Taemin grins.
"Fine with me," he says. "Just take your crap with you."
On Saturday night, sleeping arrangements are a bit uncomfortable.
Jonghyun tosses and turns on the living room couch wearing a large scowl on his face. Minho shakes his head.
"Why don't you just apologize?" he asks.
"No way," Jonghyun replies crossly. "He called me short."
"You're acting like a baby," Minho tells him. "But suit yourself. Eventually you're pride will crumble. It always does."
Minho leaves the room and Jonghyun growls as he turns over yet again. The couch isn’t hard but it's not nearly as comfortable to rest against as Taemin's skin is. He lets out a loud groan of frustration and throws the covers over his head.
Meanwhile Taemin shivers as he wraps the sheets around his body. The entire room is freezing cold and despite the fact that he has on three blankets he still can't get warm. He glances at the door of the room and for a second he finds himself wanting to fling it open and let Jonghyun back in. Jonghyun's arms around his waist would make the perfect blanket and part of him aches for it.
"Why does he have to be so stubborn?" he says annoyed. He growls and hits his pillow. "Fine. If he wants to be stubborn, I can be stubborn too."
He curls into a ball and tries to fall asleep, still shivering.

On Sunday morning, things are still a bit heated.
"How was sleeping on the couch?" Taemin asks as they sit cross legged on the living room floor. Jonghyun gives him a cold stare.
"It sucked," he says and Taemin laughs. "Oh you think that's funny?"
"You're the one who left. And if you just apologized, you wouldn't have gone through that."
"Apologize? Me?" Jonghyun says in disbelief. "You were the one being selfish."
"I was being selfish? You wanted me to sleep in a pig sty!"
"It did not look like a pig sty!"
"It did too!"
"It did not! It looked more like a creepy shrine to Michael Jackson."
"You said you didn't mind my posters!"
"I lied. You've done that before haven't you Mr. 'I Slept Fine'."
"How am I supposed to tell you that you sound like this when you sleep -"
Taemin makes a noise that sounds eerily similar to a cat choking on a fur ball and glares at Jonghyun. Jonghyun stares at him for a few seconds and then laughs, rolling back on the floor and clutching his stomach.
"T-there's n-no way t-that I sounded l-like that!" he says as he catches his breath.
"Well maybe not," Taemin admits as he falls back on the floor next to him. "But seriously you sounded awful. I really couldn't sleep at all this week."
"Why didn't you just tell me earlier?" Jonghyun asks.
"I didn't want to hurt your feelings," Taemin replies and Jonghyun sighs.
"What did I tell you about that?" he says shaking his head. "If you have a problem with something I've done then you tell me. I don't want to guess how you're feeling."
"Okay, then that goes for you too," Taemin tells him. "Now be completely honest. Do my posters bother you?"
"No," Jonghyun says and Taemin frowns. "Oh okay the one on the ceiling is a bit too much."
"I'll take it down then," Taemin says. "And…I'm sorry I was a selfish nag."
"And?" Jonghyun adds intertwining his fingers with Taemin's.
"And…I love you?"
"That's great. But not exactly what I was going for in this situation."
Taemin sighs.
"I'm sorry that I called you short."
"Thank you," Jonghyun says satisfied. "And I'm sorry for being a dirty slob."
"Apology accepted," Taemin says grinning.
"…does this mean that can I move back in?" Jonghyun asks hopefully and Taemin nods.
"I wish you hadn't moved out in the first place," he says. "But you have to promise that we'll do a much better job living together this time, okay?"
"I promise," Jonghyun says smiling. "Now come here."
Taemin grins and rolls over so that he's on top of Jonghyun. The older boy leans up and kisses Taemin softly, resting his arms around his waist. Taemin kisses back and presses his body further against Jonghyun's.
"Ugh for goodness sake, get a room!" Key yells angrily from his position in the kitchen. Jonghyun laughs as he and Taemin get up from the floor.
"It's a good thing we actually have one, isn't it?" he asks Taemin who nods and drags him towards their room.
"A perfect thing," he says as he pulls Jonghyun inside and shuts the door behind them.
