~Not Exactly Goodbye ~
Yabu's much taller, so only the top half of his body is in Shige's lap. Shige slowly combed his fingers through Yabu's hair and gave him an apologetic smile.
"I have to go now Kota," he said quietly. He attempted to gently move Yabu off of his lap, but the younger boy pushed his back against Shige's thighs.
"No," he said firmly. "You just got here."
Shige laughs and Yabu feels extremely warm.
"You haven't changed," he said, poking Yabu's nose. "You're still a little brat."
"Only with you," Yabu replied. "And I have a right to be bratty. I barely get to see you."
"I can't believe you're trying to justify this," Shige said amused, resuming his touches on Yabu scalp.
"Will it make you stay?" Yabu asked, and Shige hears the hope in his voice. He hates to have to be the one to make it disappear. He smiled softly and kissed his forehead.
"I can't," he said and Yabu noted the tone in his voice. It sounded sympathetic but firm. He sighed and sat up, knowing that the discussion had ended. Shige chuckled and stood up from the couch. Yabu reluctantly followed suit.
"You sound like I'm leaving forever," Shige said as he led the way out of the room. "It's just a month. And besides, doesn't JUMP always crash a concert tour?"
Yabu laughed.
"We'll be sure to crash yours," he said, linking his pinky with Shige's who smiled and squeezed his finger.
"Good," he told him.
"And I'll call you Shige too," Yabu added.
"And I'll pluck your big forehead," Shige replied, poking him and Yabu laughed.
"Fair enough," he said with a smile.
They reached NEWS's dressing room. Yabu hated the sight of it. It meant another two months without Shige. It meant another two months of no hugs, no kisses, and barely enough time for talking on the phone. He hugged Shige and inhaled deeply, putting the scent into his memory. Shige smiled as he let go and gently pulled Yabu down for a kiss.
"Goodbye for now," he said.
"For now," Yabu agreed, trying his best to continue to smile. He knew that even though Shige wouldn't show it, he'd feel even worse if he left him while he looked miserable. "Have fun and try your hardest each day."
"What's with that superior tone?!" Shige exclaimed smiling and poking the younger boy's stomach. Yabu giggled as he clutched the area. "You don't have to tell me that!"
"Sorry!" Yabu says laughing and flinging himself out of reach of another poke.
With one last smile, Shige entered the dressing room. Yabu stared at the closed door for a while - almost glaring at it - and then returned to JUMP's dressing room.
"Hikaru, did you get a copy of the schedule?" he asked as he stepped through the door.
"Yep!" Hikaru replied, holding it up. Yabu sat down next to him to get a better look. "The best dates to crash the concert are here and here," he added pointing to the schedule. "Which one do you want to do?"
"Why not both?" Yabu replied, frowning and Hikaru laughed.
"You're such a brat Kota," he teased and Yabu smiled.
