[The feed turns on to a lot of static before it trails down to the sound of rustling leaves. Someone was walking. Abruptly, the sound ended and the video feed came on. Slender fingers seemed to be adjusting the screen before who ever was there began to walk away, Hermione's bushy hair was the first noticeable thing. When she felt she was at a good ( Read more... )

London? Isn't that ... [a major city on earth-that-was, yes. well, simon lightly clears his throat and addresses the girl directly:] Miss, I'm afraid you've been transported. This place is called Demeleier. It's nowhere near London.

[Well, my, my. Someone calling her miss. She's not used to men with manners so this is rather refreshing.]

Demeleier, you say? How peculiar! Perhaps this is an entirely new world- tell me! Do you know about a society that calls themselves the Black Priests? What about the Black Order?

[simon is a classy gent ok]

I ... can't say I've heard of them. Either one, actually - we do seem to be on an entirely different planet.

[perhaps even a different solar system. who knows.]

[Hermione misses classy gents.]

Entirely different planet? Do you mean that this is not Earth or that you are not from earth?

[She's taking to sitting on the ground, legs folded beneath her gracefully.]

It's odd. I assumed worlds were separated as dimensions not planets.

Um ... well, both, actually. I don't believe this is Earth, and where I'm from - or, or I guess when I'm from - Earth no longer exists.

[No longer exists. You've captured this witch's attention. Enough she's forgotten the fact she's trying to figure out where she is.]

Goodness. From the future.

[Now you got her on a mental rampage.]

The extinction of Earth, well that's not calculated until millions and millions of years. U-Unless something else destroyed it- but that would be quite the force.

I-I'm sorry. Perhaps I should tackle one thing at a time. This Demeleier is an entirely different world.

Mm, I suppose so. What year is it, where you're from?

[and it's kinda surreal, when simon actually thinks about it. space travel is a reality, but time travel is ... well, the stuff of science fiction.]

Most of the records of Earth-That-Was were lost over the years, but the accounts mostly indicate that the planet was ... well, "used up," is usually how it's phrased.

[aww why so cute hermione. you're so enthusiastic and knowledgeable! simon can't help smiling.]

There's no need to apologize, Miss. Finding oneself in a situation such as this can be ... a little overwhelming, to say the least. But yes, as far as anyone's been able to piece together, Demeleier is a world previously unknown to everyone here except the original inhabitants.

We are at the end of the twentieth century in my world but I was taken to another place, it wasn't necessarily my world by the looks of it, but it was a similar parallel- like another dimension!

It's time revolved around the early nineteenth century. There were many similarities that could help one assume the world a parallel but it had very important differences. Someone created a dimensional portal.

What year is it in your world?

Ah ... I see.

[simon's studied the many-worlds theory on quantum mechanics in passing - really, who hasn't? - but he'd never given it much thought, until now. it has always been theoretical, and simon was far more interested in the concrete, the known, the things he could get his hands on and see for himself.]

So you've done this before. Hm. [he almost kind of envies your steeliness, hermione.]

Um, it was the early 26th century, where I'm from. 2517 ... o-or maybe it's 2518 now, it's hard to keep track, sometimes ... um, yes, I think it's definitely 2518. I think.

Merlin's beard, the 26th century!

[Yes well, she get's cocky of the things she knows about so at the moment, all the jealousy is on you being from the future. Not that he time isn't fun, you're just... from the future. The future, man!]

Would it be too troublesome to ask for more details on your theories and knowledge once I have settled myself in town? Do say yes!

[oh hermione, WHY SO CUTE. ;~; it's almost like having a non-crazy version of his sister, except not a brat. yet.]

I, um ... wouldn't be opposed to that. If - if you don't think it will ... upset the natural order of things too much? Then again, we're probably already past that point, under these circumstances.

[I see the potential for an adorable friendship right here!]

Rest assured, I understand your concern and, although I'm not too sure at what consequences would result, I don't plan on asking particularly important questions.

...it would mostly be out of curiosity. A small curiosity of mine, you see.

Ah, I see. Well, in that case, I'll be most happy to answer your questions ... once you're settled, of course. Are you headed toward the village already?
