Well I just got back from whistler. We left thursday night. We slept in the back of anthony's bronco, which wasn't very tight but it worked. First day I woke up at 8 o clock to ride the skatepark that we parked next to. I rode over there and realized every bike rider that I've ever looked up to since I was 9 years old was riding the skatepark. I was pretty ciked on that. Then I rolled my ankle 30 minutes later and couldn't walk. I just kept trying to ride on it but it hurt so bad I'm surprised I didn't throw up on myself.
The dirt jumps for the red bull contest were absolutely fucking insane. 20 dude from this years x-games showed up in a hellcopter and a bus along with a million camera crews filming for espn. That was kinda wierd. Everyone was sooooo scared of the jumps and nobody did any tricks on them for the first half of practice. This is about the point where I realize that my ancle is the size of my waist and is purple half way up my leg. A physical therapist saw me trying to walk and asked to look at it. Her jaw dropped and said I needed to go to hospital. I said fuck that 'cause I'm from the states and my insurance wouldn't cover it. I got super lucky 'cause they just gave me a 300 dollar removable air cast that goes half way up my leg. It's dialed. But anyways............. I have never seen so much insanity on bmx bikes before. These jumps were fucking insane and everyone was just blowing up on them. People have front flips dialed now. Same with backflip 360s and flip tailwhips. It's insane. Then James foster did a tripple tailwhip and everyone went completely insane because nobody has ever done a tripple tailwhip on dirt jumps before. Insanity.
The next day this kid jack was drunk tryin to ride the bowl and smashed his face and broke his teeth. We took him to the hospital at whistler then they transfered him to squamish 'cause the french are assholes. During this hole time I'm pounding hard-A and redbulls because I hate everything when I can't ride, especially when it's with the best bike riders in the world.
We came home last night. I still haven't seen a doctor because the walk in clinic is closed on sundays I think because I can't get through to anybody, but it's really not bad.
No painkillers because I'm proving a point. It's been almost 4 months.
