I want to get some business cards printed up before the new medio expo, (plenty of time before that, but I want to get it done). The problem is that I don't have a title for it yet. Here's what I do know:
Subjects:
Exploration, travel, geography, history. It's not really a travel show in the sense that it's a guide for travel. More of philosophy of travel rather than what restaurants to visit. Also will cover historic travelers and routes. Will usually cover only North America, but not adverse to elsewhere.
Formats used:
Narrative-documentaries, straight interviews, straight read commentaries/essays.
Possible topics:
-Francis Tapon (already interviewed, first person to hike the CDT both ways)
-Mark Twain
-Wilshire Blvd in Los Angeles
-Juanista (sp?) de Anza
-El Camino Real/the mission trail/father Serra
-The US/Canadian and US/Mexican borders
-Richard Grant (author of American Nomads, the most beautiful book I've ever read)
-Alexis de Toqueville (sp?)
-The Grapes of Wrath
-The Colorado and Mississippi Rivers
-Hewell Houser (how awesome would that be?)
-Teddy Roosevelt/Clay Jenkins, (Clay Jenkins is a Roosevelt historian and impersonator (also Jefferson historian and impersonator) and last year traced Roosevelt's life-changing journey through the badlands of South Dakota.
-Quartzsite (small AZ town that's home to over a milion RVers and snowbirds in the winter)
So that's the idea. I like the idea of jumping off from the word "exploration" rather than "travel," but I'm drawing a blank. What do you think?
Also, :cough:
aprettykitty:cough:, I need to come up with a logo...
