A Fool and Her Money are Easily (Quickly) Parted

I went to Art on the Square to see an artist that I particularly admired. It was supposed to be a quick visit and then leave since I was going to drive up north today to see my family in the afternoon. My youngest brother's daughter had a birthday party today. I was not going for that, but I was going to drive out since it was a gathering. My family is difficult to gather. My niece is 1 and hardly able to appreciate the huge crowd of her first party. [note to be on hand for future birthdays]

Predictably I lost myself in the crowd of people and objets d'art. In quick order I acquired two watercolors of luck dragons with cranes, & the goddess of mercy with her pearl, an acrylic metal dragon knotted into an 8, and two knit cardigans. Pangs! Bad magpie behavior. Most years I succeed in skipping this art fair. In the one or two times prior I have succeeded in not dropping a penny. More than made up time with my patronage today.

On the moving business front I managed to talk with my landlord today, candidly, about my intent to move out. He offered to tack on an extra $100 to my security deposit if I found a new renter for him. Sounds like he wants to add new installation in the roof over the apartment so he could also use some time with the apartment vacant....
