Just a few pics

One of the things I'm learning about New Mexico, is that it a place of beautiful sky. In the absence of anything written (seems I don't have time these days) I thought I'd just post a few pics I've taken in the last few days. We're in our "monsoon" season and so the sunsets are often adorned by clouds.

Enjoy! )

Beautiful cloud-play. I know you're returning to the Southwest so you already knew about the blue skies and stupendous sunsets, but don't you wonder sometimes why Mid westerners are still there? Thanks for sharing. Are you pleased with the job for now?

The job is as good as I could have hoped. I knew I'd be thrown into a very difficult situation, and it has been. But success is still possible and I've earned some good will from my co-workers, who are great to work with. It'll get easier as I get more used to the way things work around here, and get through the substantial technical learning curve. I haven't worked on this kind of technology before.

It's true that the skies in this part of the world are really beautiful, but there are some wonderful things about living in the midwest, and Minnesota has some truly breathtaking beauty. I'll have to post the story of my visit to the Boundary Waters sometime. It's a half-million acres of pristine, take-no-prisoners wilderness!

In the meanwhile, I'll still be keeping my eye on the sky and my camera at the ready.

Awesome pictures, Scott!

There's nothing more beautiful than a sunset like that. I love the colors and the reflections off the clouds.

Yeah, I thought the colors on the clouds were fantastic. Of course I can't make the camera do justice to such vistas, but the idea of how rich they were did come through.

Hope things are great in the Big Banana - I'll get in touch soon.
