Feel free to skip this if you don't give a damn about poker, or if you don't want to hear me whine about bad beats.  But dammit...three times tonight I flopped the nuts (the best possible hand) and lost to runner runner

which I wouldn't have folded if I flopped a set, not in limit.

I know this because I lost a good full house to 4 5's this week!

Yeah, 44 beats me too. And sure -- you basically never fold a set on the flop, so I'd have been hanging in -- raising even! -- if I had 44.

To be honest with you, though, I generally play hands as strong as the one I had as though I'm just not going to run into quads. If you catch quads against me, and I have a high set, you can expect I'll pay you off pretty well.

Everyone gets paid off with quads, play them liek a set, and you will win every time.

Pocket pairs are tough to judge, espically if they are small.
