My education deceives me. Remember in the Simpsons when Homer gets the crayon removed from his brain and he becomes smarter, and eventually less happy? Lisa explained to him that the relationship between intelligence and happiness is inverse, that is, less smart = more happy. I've always laughed it off, knowing that there are other variables at play. However, I've come to realize that there are some things in life I'd enjoy a great deal more if it weren't for me being (if I may toot my own horn) at least a little bit above average intelligence.
Remember in Mallrats during the game show, Brodie (played by Jason Lee) tells the story about the plane? He says his friend was on a plane that hit major turbulence and as the plane started to nose-dive, everyone started masturbating because they thought they were going to die. The scene ended with bachelor #3 asking Brodie if he came, to which Brodie replied, "there are just somet things you don't say!" Anyway my point is this: in a catastrophic emergency, the sympathetic nervous system is activated, dilating pupils, increasing heart rate and blood pressure. What a lot of people don't know is that in this state the genitals do not function. Bloodflow down there is completely shut off. Therefore, the story is wrong and thus not funny. I want to laugh. If you know me, you know that I love to do just that (whenever I can, I might add). I'm sorry I'm ruining it for you too. I just thought I'd share my misery.
