For real.
1) Sunday night/Monday morning - 12am: My computer dies. I begin to cry. It won't even open up in safe mode. And, like Carrie in Sex and the City, I have not backed up most of my files, so I start crying harder. Then I look up a computer repair place and set my alarm to get up and call them right when they open.
2) Monday, 9am: I get in touch with the computer repair place, they pick up my computer and call me later to tell me they can back-up my files, but have to completely reconfigure it and it'll cost me about $350-$400. Awesome. That's a good chunk out of the "Get the hell out of Ohio" fund.
3) Monday, 1pm: I get onto my Dad's computer to work on stuff, like prepare for my informal phone interview later in the day and send some emails to people who might hire me that had been told I would email them TODAY. And, oh, wait for it, the internet is TOTALLY out. Which NEVER happens because we have cable. But it's out. Within 24 hours of my computer dying, my dad's becomes obsolete (for my purposes, at least). Me = stressing about not being able to contact people and them crossing me off their potential employee list because of it. Sweet.
DISCLAIMER: 4 and 5 may be a little TMI.
4) Monday night: I had indigestion which kept me up till 4am.
5) Tuesday, 8am: I awake with a horrible stomach ache, which quickly (as in, within 5 min) develops into the worst flu I've ever had. I spend the ENTIRE day curled up in the fetal position in front of the TV clutching a plastic bag in constant pain. Awesomeness.
6) Today: I can sit at the computer (obviously) and eat Lipton soup (which is really hot water with a boullion cube) and nurse my abs/ribs/back/throat which are all incredibly sore from yesterday.
Seriously, I'm afraid of what will happen tomorrow. Not to mention the whole Valentine's Day bullshit. I think I'll just stay in bed all day.
So, in an attempt to think positively, here's some good things:
1) I finally had my phone interview and it went really well and the lady's going to recommend me for 2 positions (the only open ones I qualify for). Plus she likes me b/c she's from the Midwest (Chicago) and her daughter's named Danielle. My name helps me out for the very first time!
2) I found a few AWESOME jobs to apply for in NYC. Fingers crossed, people!
3) I've been hired to write and help with an ad campaign for a nearby town (and by town I mean TINY, one-stop-sign, don't-blink-or-you'll-miss-it, village). Yay money!
4) I lost 5 pounds on the FLU diet. Though most of that is probably dehydration. I'll take it, though! haha
5) Youtube is my favorite. I just spent about 3 hours wasting time on it today. I shouldn't, but I did. And I should feel guilty, but I don't.
That's all I got. Peace!
