and so we lay thee to rest

Well, we finally laid Tessie to rest today. My mom woke me up this morning so we could go over to Saturn, pay the bill and empty out the car.

So, we went...I started taking the license plates off the car and I lost it. I started crying and continued crying as my mom emptied the glove compartment and front seat and scraped off the registration and inspection stickers, continued while I cleaned out the trunk and back seat and then, lastly, removed the front license plate from the car.

I lost it even more once that was done and we started walking away from the car so my mother could turn over the key and title to the dealer...I was crying so hard walking back to the Blazer. That was it...that was the last time I was going to see that car.

So, my mom and I went shopping today with her friend, Sue...I bought a nice collared shirt and nice slacks from Old Navy with a gift card I got and then I got THAT '70S SHOW: SEASON 3 and the RENT soundtrack from Wal-Mart.

We hung out at Sue's for a little while and I was actually helping her 5th grade son with his math homework and I casually suggested to my mother that maybe I could try and pay off the Blazer somehow. She was like "we can discuss it later."

So we come home, my dad's there, and he was like "So, I heard you had a hard time at the Saturn place."

Anyway, they then proceeded to inform me that....

THEY ARE GOING TO ALLOW ME TO USE THE BLAZER UPSTATE!

Beat up, ripped up, falling apart, loud '92 Saturn SL2 to a 1997 Chevy Blazer with leather interior and a WORKING CD player...TOTAL UPGRADE!

I almost feel bad that I'm not feeling so upset about the Saturn anymore lol...but I mean, can you BLAME me? haha
