Lacega (Very Tired)

Oof.

So, today I had a plan. I was going to go to campus around 8:30, work for a couple hours, then come back to the apartment, pick up Valefor, walk over to the vet, get her taken care of, take her home, go the campus in time for the physics picnic (noon), then do lab. Which, since it was the same lab as yesterday's, would be a breeze to run.

Well, even as I got up this morning I thought, "there's no way this plan is going to work". And it didn't, not quite.

Oh, and I had to walk to the vet because I crashed my car on Friday.*

So, it's a good thing I gave myself plenty of time to get to the vet, because of the *slight* discrepancy between where google said it was and where it actually is:

(that's an extra 0.8 miles)

By the time I arrived, I was a sweaty, tired mess who had just enough time to drop off her cat (the receptionist took pity on me and gave me a bottle of water), then walk back to the apartment, take a quick shower, and bike to campus. (I think I need a basket for my bike, that would have made this easier).

The picnic was fun, we had a good turn out. Even some freshmen!

Lab started great--had them work through the uncertainties propagation worksheet, and emphasized that they must put a 0 before the decimal points. But then...so, yesterday I'd realized halfway through lab that there was a LoggerPro template they were supposed to use to enter their data in, that displayed it in the correct way. So, today I directed them to where it was...and the file was wrong!

I found Brian, our lab support guy, and eventually we realized that whoever opened it first had *saved over it* with their incorrect LoggerPro file. So, Brian got Jim to put the correct file back on the server, and I opened it, and it was correct! But by the time some students had opened it, someone had *saved the wrong one over it again*. At least that time I was able to put my copy on it. At that point Jim came in and was all, "Are you guys kidding me? Stop doing that!" and had them save to the desktop (which I had been telling them to do, but apparently they weren't all listening). Thankfully after that it was smooth sailing.

Also thankfully, Colin had agreed to drive me over to the vet's to pick up Val before they closed at 5. She seems much happier now, and hopefully won't be butt scooting any more.

* Oh, yes the state of my car:

Seen better days!
