Knitting and More
Still working on the Loll Cardigan. I think I have an obsession with grey sweaters. I own two store-bought grey sweaters and I am knitting one and have plans to knit another (Wren will be in grey RYC Cashsoft Aran). Because of this, I went to KnitPicks yesterday and bought two colors of Jacquard Acid Dye, one teal and one black. Since Loll is knit with a 100% wool yarn, I'm hoping I can just dye the whole damn thing once it is done. Not sure yet whether or not to dye the pieces before I make them up or after. I will also dye one or two of my extra skeins to go along with it. Hopefully the dye will arrive in concurrence with me finishing the knitting. If not, I'll slog along on the K2Tog Dr. Bag until it arrives, or maybe I'll start the Clap.
This dying experiment will allow me an excuse to go to the local Restaurant Supply store, which I have been itching to do for a while. I have to have a dedicated dyepot after all...and maybe a couple of half-sheet pans and some chopsticks and maybe some other awesome kitcheny trinkets and gadgets.
Independence day is tomorrow and I think that we'll do some sort of cooking/grilling/eating in the lovely out of doors since it has been so wonderful in the city as of late. Still foggy in the early morning and late evenings of course, but lately it's been quite sunny and almost warm during the day. And as usual, I'll promise lots of photos and probably not post any.
