Despite how neglectful I've been of this blog, I promise I have been knitting up a storm. In fact, I have two boxes of belated knitstuff ready to put in the mail tomorrow! More on that later.
I've been doing my fair share of Knitting in Public lately, I must admit. Last week, about a dozen members of the "Lazy, Stupid, and Godless: South Bay Contingent!" group on the Rav met to eat, drink, and knit. At Hooters!
That's Fat Tire in the glass there, not actually Coor's Light. Also pictured is the last bit of the body of my Urban Aran, in a gorgeous dark red color of KnitPicks' Wool of the Andes, as gifted to me by
mousecatfish and
eilonwy.
Yesterday the delightful
womanplus and I got all dolled up and sat around in our dresses and heels (yeah, you read that correctly) to knit and sip on cool beverages at a coffeeshop downtown. The only photographic evidence I have is from a moment when I decided to camwhore with my cell phone at a stoplight:
You know, keeping in the tradition of only photographing half of my head and all of my tattoo.
...WHAT?!
Okay. So anyway, there was dressy knitting to be had. And on our way to our cars, we spotted some elusive
knit graffiti!
I'm totally inspired. Not sure I can bring myself to put 100% acrylic on the needles again, but I do have a ton of Wool-Ease and equivalent lying about that's just screaming to be wrapped around a tree or lamp post.
So it's been an oddly social couple of weeks. Work has come and gone and now I enjoy my funemployment until the next job comes along (no thanks to Depeche Mode who canceled their concert today due to vocal rest).
Things I Have Learned:
~ Deep fried pickles are actually quite tasty.
~ Neck decreases and beer do not mix well.
~ Knitting atop a bar stool for three hours hurts like hell.
~ Dressing like a girl takes way longer to get ready. (Related, yet not-new observation: NO POCKETS! Aiiie!)
~ When wearing heels, stash some flats in your bag so you can walk to and from your car in comfort. (Thank you for the tip,
womanplus!)
