I spent a lovely afternoon with Brenda today holding down the benches outside of Yarndogs. I baked another giant cookie with fruit and we knitted the afternoon away. Lovely weather and lovely company.
Despite the apparent lack of editing or beta knitting of the Cthulhu Diva Cup Cozy pattern, mine is near completion at tentacle 4 of 10. Not only did I follow the pattern every step of the way, but I frogged when I found out I wasn't doing something correctly. Being that it comes out of a pattern book called AntiCraft which is all about breaking boundaries and whatnot, I decided what could be more boundary-breaking for me than not improvising on the pattern at all.* I'm even using yarn in the correct gauge. Unheard of.
Which brings me to wonder, why do I have this weird fascination with knit cephalopods? And when did it start, exactly? And, dear god, what is that thing?**
* True story: Someone I knew in college threw a "Tacky Party" and invited everyone to attend wearing the most godawful outfits they could muster. I showed up in all black saying, "What could be tackier than coming to a Tacky Party dressed in clothes that match?"
