Went to see Sweeney Todd: The Movie today with Mom and promptly fell in love with Anthony's gloves. From what I could tell: Dark grey, with individual half-fingers and two sets of 2x2 cables on the back of each hand. *love* *want*
Sweeney's gloves weren't bad, either, although I couldn't get a close or long enough look at them to tell from stitches. Anthony's scarf looked like a simple garter stitch thing, either knit straight or on the bias, I couldn't tell.
My other impressions on the film:
1) Anthony Stewart Head's totally uncredited cameo? Loved it.
2) I really missed the chorus as narrator.
3) Especially in "God, That's Good" (which...is it even called "God, That's Good" anymore if the chorus doesn't sing "God, that's good!" in it?)
4) I also missed hearing "Kiss Me"
5) But did not miss a
Johanna with crossed eyes.
6) Depp sang better than the impression I got from the 2 minutes I listened to the soundtrack. But I wished HBC had taken maybe a few more singing lessons.
7) Enjoyed how active they made "A Little Priest" and "By the Sea"
8) And found it interesting how trained my body is to expect to stretch my legs and go pee at the end of Act 1 after "A Little Priest".
9) The blood was...wonderfully Burton.
10) I found myself wondering if Tim Burton and Helena Bonham Carter's children were born in sepia tones.
In short: Loved it. Loved it, loved it, loved it. I expect to start scoping out lightweight dark grey yarns when I get back home.
