Dear NBCC,
I want to pay you to take your test. Really, truly, I am eager to pay the almost $200 dollars to sit and take your exam. Even though it has been two years since I've taken a class and will have to study and buy flash cards and stress out. Presuming I'd pass, I'd even happily pay whatever it is you want to make me "certified counselor". Why is it that you need me to get permission from my state board. I could give you my transcript to verify my degree, whatever you want. Why won't you just take my money and let me take your test? I do not understand what you gain from this relationship.
Dear New Mexico Board of Counseling and Therapy Practice,
I also want to give you my money. I have somewhat more understanding about why you want more from me. But why do I need a supervisor to take the NCE? I get that you don't want to license me without a supervisor, but why do I need to apply for licensure before I can take the exam? I'm trying to find work without any network already, already behind everyone who is licensed, but if I could take the exam I could advertise that I passed. You are making this difficult for me.
Exasperatedly yours,
Suzanne
PS. Neither of you are making me more likely to work, therefore keeping the NBCC from getting my money, and keeping NM from getting my money from fees, and from income taxes, and is losing NM money by lowering our household tax bracket.
