I finished most of my Christmas knitting.
I decided not to make anything for my brothers, because I knew they would not appreciate it, so they got gift cards. And, truth be told, the damn scarf I was making my brother was too thick. I think I needed to use sport weight instead of worsted weight yarn. I'm going to be frogging that to save the yarn, I'm sure I will find other uses for it.
It looks like I may be making my brother's fiancee's wedding veil though, which will be interesting.
Finished pictures under the cut.
The edging detail of the shawl I made my mother.
My mom with the whole thing. She's being a little old lady going to church.
The bag I made my sister. It felted up pretty well, but the yarn has a kind of fuzzy corona around it. I didn't have a sweater stone, or I would have rubbed it off.
The little toys I made for my other sister. I love this pattern and the way it turned out. It's a quick easy knit, that makes a really fun toy.
It can hide in the log. This yarn felted up beautifully, but the dark brown of the log felted too much. If I make this again, I'll have to figure out a way to fix this...the lining felted just the right amount, and it's knit as a single piece. I may just have to hand felt the lining the rest of the way next time.
This is the wine bottle cozy I made for my grandparents, complete with a bottle of wine. The green got really washed out in this picture, and I suck at embroidery, which is something I need to fix before I make any more of these.
A Dr. Who scarf for my dad. This is the only picture I have, so pretend all of those ends are woven in. And the colors are seriously screwy in this picture, so before I get any Who fans telling me how wrong I am, I promise that it looks a lot better in real life. The only color I think is a little off in real life is the blue.
