FO - "not broken rib" scarf

Jun 30, 2007 13:16

OK, I was talking about it yesterday, so I figured I would get off my lazy butt & get some pics to post this FO. Yeah, it's "yet another scarf". But, I love the yarn & I love the stitch, so I thought I would share.

Yarn: 1 skein Brooks Farm "Four Play" (50/50 silk/wool blend, 4 ply, 4 oz, 270 yds) - handpainted, no colorway name or die lot listed.

Needles: size 7 circs.

Pattern: I apologize for not being able to give credit where credit it due, but I found it wandering around the web, looking for something sort of like a broken rib stitch. I found this stitch. I have just tried to google my way back, but alas, I cannot find it. All it is (and the reason I didn't bookmark it!) is: RS: 3X3 rib, WS: kpkpkp... That's it! (recommend working in increments of 6 stitches) And what you end up with is this cool ribbing that is totally reversible and instead of standard ribs, the ribs are textured in sort of a seed stitch way. Anyway, it looks cooler than it sounds. (at least to me!)

Here is it in all its glory. It is about 5.5' long. I wanted to shoot it in sunlight, and since I think the colors are sort of metalicky, I shot it on the hood of my car, which is "brushed pewter" colored.

This shot shows off the stitch pattern pretty well:

And I think this one is the truest on the colors: (at least on my monitor)
