So, I've got this skein of silk that I've been absolutely dying to use (for a year now!), but I need some help. It's Blue Moon Fiber Arts, 1000 yards, 100% silk and a very light laceweight (heavier than the Skacel cobweb laceweight, but thinner than Knitpicks Shimmer). It is a mix of forest greens, deep sea blues and steel greys. It is beautiful and I'd like to do it some justice in knitted form.
I've got enough for a small shawl, and that's what I'd like to do with it. I don't need patterns themselves, but I've never knitted with this type of yarn before, so I'd like some information on how to decide what kinds of patterns would really let the yarn shine (say a tighter knitted lace shawl versus a drop-stitch on very large needles). Also, if there's any caretaking I should know while knitting- if it can fuzz up when handled too harshly or if it can split, etc. If you know of a website I should be perusing regarding this care instead, by all means link me and I will follow up there.
Thanks for all your help!
