help with urban necessity, making smaller

okay...so i've never made gloves/mittens before, and i really love urban necessity (http://magknits.com/Sept05/patterns/urban.htm) and i really want to make it out of noro silk garden. the problem? my gage is off. with the recommended yarn they get 21 stitches to 4", and i ( Read more... )

heh...i actually hadn't, but i am now trying that. another problem is that i have small hands, so it may not be enough, but we'll see. thanks for the suggestion!

If it's the texture and striping you want, and you're not doing it for the very good reason, "I've got a crapload of Silk Garden I need to use," there's another product out now called Silk Garden Lite that is a DK weight Silk Garden which you might want to peek at. One of my local yarn stores has it, and it really does look just like Silk Garden, but thinner. It appears you'd get 22 stitches = 4 inches on #6 using that.
