EDIT: Thanks to everyone who replied - you were right! I emailed Ms. Morrison as suggested; in her reply, she said that the "k1" at the end of Row 1 is an error, and it should be k2.
Thanks for all your help - now here's hoping I can get 2 sleeves knitted in 4 days!!!!
----
So I'm knitting my first sweater ever, after having made perhaps 50+ afghans and too many scarves/hats/mittens to count. I'm using the pattern "Lucky" from Knitty (
http://knitty.com/ISSUEsummer05/PATTlucky.html)
To start the sleeves, it says:
Using straight needles, CO 35[39, 39, 43, 43] sts.
Row 1 [RS]: K2, work in Mistake Rib to last 2 sts, k1.
Row 2 [WS]: P2, work in Mistake Rib to last 2 sts, p2.
Repeat these 2 rows 7 times more.
Mistake Rib, as defined by the pattern, is:
Row 1: [K2, p2,] to last 3 sts, k2, p1.
Every row is the same.
So for Row 1 of the sleeve, does one knit K2, and then start Mistake Rib with K2, P2? Also, I can't figure out why it says "work to last 2 stitches, and then k1"... what do you do with the other stitch??
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated - it's a Valentine's Day gift for my boyfriend, and so I clearly have to finish it this week!!!!
Thanks very much :)
