Retro Redux Shrug

Apr 23, 2007 10:10

In a stash-busting attempt in preparation for the upcoming move, I used up some Lion Brand Jiffy in Purple that I had lying around to make the Retro Redux Shrug from "Lace Style".

I think it turned out well, especially considering I didn't really follow the pattern very closely. In fact, I kinda cheated; I used Barnes & Noble like a library. I was wasting time at the B&N in Irving while Matt was at work, and though I'm not generally a fan of lace (too froo-froo for my taste), I found this pattern really cute, probably because it's a chunkier lace pattern. But of course, one pattern is not worth the price of the book, so I just jotted down the gist of it and made up my own version at home later. I also have some of the same yarn in a light grey that might become a second shrug. Although, that'll probably have to wait until after the move.
