afghans for Afghans have a couple of special drives going on at the moment - one for hats and one for socks. They seem to be pretty happy about the hat situation (deadline 28th February), though they'd doubtless welcome more if you're in a single coloured hat mood.
However, as of their email to their list yesterday, they'd only received 53 pairs of socks of a hoped for 250 and seem a little worried about it. The deadline is March 7th so if anyone wants to whip up some socks for children aged 7-18 in the next few weeks, you can find details on their website here.
