So I really like the idea of joining with crafters nationally, my question is, do we want to do a "knit for change" knitted quilt as discussed and donate it there. I am kind of thinking of the knit-a-long...maybe we could change the focus for this one.

i think that would be a really really good idea. maybe we could come up with some way of making it, you know, represent us (maybe i missed it in the last post, did you already discuss that?) sorry if you did. but i think that would be a great idea.

What if we could each take a letter and spell knit four (or 4) change? Is that too cheezy? of course I would have to conquer instarsia before then, but I can manage :)

i think that's a good idea. the only thing i thought was to make a "K" on some of them for knit, but hmm...since this was "katrina" that's probably not a good idea.

what about a design, like a dove or something like that, where we have a certain amount of blue and white to make the design? just throwing out ideas there.

I like the dove idea, especially because an experienced knitter (or knitters) could make the dove, and everyone else could contribute blue or white squares. If no one objects, since this is such a community decision, I will make this the concept of my knit-a-long starting this weekend. Yay us!

I think that sounds great! I'll see what I can come up with in terms of a concept for what this will look like on my computer, figure out how many squares we'd need of which colors, etc., and I'll post it here, or do you want me to email you?

the picture will be a square itself and then blue and white around it. i think that will work well.
