Toque Emergency!! aka WTF??

Several years ago in a fit of fandom, I knit a Jayne Toque. It was right before the movie, Serenity , came out and everybody was making them to wear to the premier. If you have never seen the show then the fabulousness of this toque will be utterly lost on you, as it is kind of a "you had to be there" sort of thing.

Do you know what colour lot etc those are? I have some lopi that a friend gave me, leftover from making a jayne hat. You could use it to fix the holes, if the colours match.

PS-Missed out on last tuesday's SnB, b/c I was far too B*tchy to hang out. HEhe, irony. But I'll come this week.

Really? That would be awesome! I don't know the colour lots but anything close would be fine I think.

Thanks,
I'll be there next Tuesday, @ Wednesday beerknit, & I think Friday too! My goodness, my life revolves around knitting!

It was not the yarn, I am sure it was demon moths! I found some moth cocoons on a store bought wool sweater in my room, so I am trying to clean/ freeze all my yarn & handknits right now.

I dunno....looks like moths to me!
Strangely, they don't always leave signs, like spent coccoons. And yes, they do love Lopi.
To fix small holes, I often use tapestry wool....it comes in a million colors.
It doesn't look like you can really darn the holes, as they're a bit small - maybe sew them shut side-to-side?
Also, it's good to freeze anything that shows signs of moth damage....you never know what's lurking in there, and the freezer will kill any dormant eggs.
Grrr! Evil moths.

Good Call! I now have several bags filled with woolens in the freezer... I can't wait till the hubby comes home tonight and goes to get a frozen burrito out of the freezer :-P He's in for a surprise!
