recycling can be fun!

This is a jacket I made the other day. It is made from repurposed wool from an XL gap womens trench coat. I had the design drawn in my idea book for quite a while, but never got around to making it. The seam ripping was brutal to get the fabric apart, but I did it! I salvaged part of the button band from the original coat, which made it a bit easier. I love how it turned out! It is slightly different from my original design, because I had to work with fabric that was already cut up, and I think I like this even more than the way I had it originally drawn.
The pics are not great, I got Jeffy to take them & I think he was less than excited to be forced photographer for this photo shoot. Look at the angle! Don't I look short? I guess this must be how I always look to the uber tall hubby! Oh well, here it is!

I made the shoulders a little poufy, cause I like that sort of thing.

And I finished this little toque yesterday, another for the charityknit pile.

Today I've been working on sewing up another little critter for my someday etsy shop... I'll post about it when it's done.
I think I should go knit now!
