So ever since Thursday night I've been mega, super, uber-ill! I haven't been truly sick since I dunno, 2 years ago? And this time I've been hit hard with a mega-flu-bug. Body aches, fever, chills, headache, sore throat, painful swollen lymph nodes, runny nose, icky ick double ickness!
So I've been sleeping, and relaxing all weekend, and trying not to have a deathbed attitude.
I've been reading a lot of craft blogs the past couple days, and I came across SouleMama's blog. She has some really gorgeous photos, and is always baking, or making crafty stuff which she sells in her online shop. Check it out if you've never seen it, her blog is really inspiring :-)
Here are some photos from my weekend...
Some daffodils from a friend's garden.
& an apron made from an old mens button up shirt. In the background are some cupcakes I made from a box mix we had lying around. I sifted the mix so I could use a whisk instead of an electric mixer, and I had no eggs so I used extra baking soda, cream of tartar and vinegar to make them rise, and holey crap were they fluffy! Seriously, these were rediculously fluffy cupcakes! I know, you're thinking "how sick could this girl possibly be if she was gettin all crafty and baking and such" to which I say, pretty frakin sick, but still able to function somewhat with ibuprofen & tylenol in the system to numb the pain. And I'm not sneezy yet so there was no danger of contaminating the baked goods.
This is the cover of a birthday box (yes you read that right) that a friend made for me... yes this is the birthday that never ends! My oldest friend (read: have been friends with the longest) was away on my bday and so she had me over last weekend for a homemade thai green curry, movie, desserts, and prezzie night. This was the box the gifts came in...
And this is what was inside! Flower seeds, & an adorable bird feeder! Perfect for my garden... Gotta get planting as soon as this flu passes!
Well here's hoping I'm better for school tomorrow & haven't fallen too far behind since missing friday's classes.
