I'm getting more curious when I see the last row before bind off. I have never tried that, and now I want to.

the trick is to drop the stitches you made with the YO's in the first row.

Just started making this, so I knit the yo I made in the first row until the last row then I let the stitches unravel am I right?

yep. Make sure you are dropping the ones you added in the first row only, otherwise you could end up with problems, if it helps you can add markers. Also if you are knitting in something other than Cash Iroha I would reccommend using a bit more yardage to make sure it blocks large enough.

So cast on more stitches or just make it longer?

I'll be working with Brown Sheep's Cotton Fleece, which I think doesn't get much bigger when blocking.

follow the pattern in every way except for knit it to the length you want before you drop the yarn overs that you added in row 1.

Continue to drop & latch every 20 rows or so as you knit. Knit till RC COL. Bring forward every third needle in NWP to WP.

Your border section can be the same as the lower border stitch, but I like to do a row of drop-stitching (k, YO,YO, across, then drop the YOs on the next row) -- the loose row thus created makes sure that the smaller or larger stitches of one section don't influence the next section.

Knittingmama Says: July 19th, at am | This might be a silly question, but do I bind of in purl on row or do I purl that row and then bind off in knit.
