thetis lake hike - warning huge post ahead!

Today my wonderful hubby took me on a hike at Thetis Lake.
Being the camera nerds we are, we each had to bring our own camera :-P No sharing in this family! Some higlights of the hike included meeting some woodpeckers, at first they were nesting in the brush right by the path, then later we heard them over head, and felt bits of bark raining down upon us. They were pecking in the trees right above us!
We also found hordes of spiders nests, no "off roading" in this park allowed! The spider's will getcha! We actually heard a crazy buzzing at one point and saw a fly get wrapped up by a spider right before our eyes! Unfortunatly we couldn't get an in focus shot of it, as there was too much action, and we didn't want to ruin the photo with flash. Here are some of our favourite shots.

And I guess I should add some knitting pics, since this is supposed to be a knitting blog...

Here is my progress on the french vanilla cami, which was originally based on the Interweave knits "Frenchy" cami, but has since taken on a life of it's own and is virtually indistinguishable from the Interweave pattern, aside from the correct needle size and guage.

this is a panel at the back to hold the waist snug.

this is a felted glasses case I made a while ago, but never blogged about. It is made from Alafoss Lopi, and is handfelted.
