A/N 2: My muse seems to like playing in the Cry Wolf ‘verse atm. Prequel to Cry Wolf. Idk.
I studied the unknown life form which had stumbled through a portal. Nearly hairless, no teeth or claws worth mentioning, aggressive posturing even as it stank of terror. Was their physical inadequacies the reason they were driven to be so careless with their environment? Some twisted need to prove themselves superior to nature?
I knew my opposition for running the mission to this world. The military would seek the ultimate sanction as quickly as possible. I couldn’t allow that. Not when there was a chance to redeem these creatures and save them from their own folly.
I had to try.
